Einstein Slug

I arrived in camp late one evening after a long 100 mile day. Needless to say, I was hungry. In the fading light I prepared to make dinner. I took off the lid of my pot set and something scary caught my eye. Oh my gosh! What kind of slug is that? Is it Einstein reincarnate? How did that get in there?! Of course I grabbed my camera before this fascinating creature could escape. After the photo session I gently moved this thing with a stick. I busted out laughing. It was a piece of macaroni! I had been staying with a friend in Washington, D.C. for a few days and didn't have to cook, so this piece of macaroni had been growing moldy in hot, damp darkness for days. Despite my hunger I decided not to eat "Einstein" and made a fresh bowl of mac & cheese, after thoroughly cleaning the pot, of course. :-)
