Can you find my bike in this photo? Yes, it's that little thing next to the rear wheels of this enormous coal truck. There is quite a bit of strip mining that goes on in the Appalachians. Admittedly most of the coal trucks that rumbled by on the roadway were not as big as this one but they are still monsterous. Riding through this area I had to be extra careful of what was in front of me so that I did not run into any pieces of coal that were strewn about on the side of the road.
