I left the Trans-American Bicycle Route to continue north along the ridge of the Appalachians through Shenandoah National Park. I found myself up in the clouds. Three days of fog and rain was the worst weather of my trip. Luckily no commercial traffic is allowed in Shenandoah but the fog still made biking a bit dangerous. When visibility was bad I pulled off to the side of the road whenever a car came up behind me. In situations like this having a rear view mirror (mounted on your helmet or handlebars) is very important!
